Fair Play in Music

The other side

The companies mentioned on this site disagree with part of what I say. This page summarizes what they have replied in writing and stays open for anything they wish to add.

What they have replied

August 3, 2026

Warner Music Group and ADA

  • It says it acts strictly as the digital distributor of the content Tu Música delivers to it.
  • It says it took no part in the commercial, operational or marketing arrangements of the project.
  • It says Tu Música is contractually responsible for securing the rights to its catalog, and that it referred my claim to Tu Música.

August 28, 2026

Tu Música, through its attorney

  • It rejects all of my claims.
  • It points out that I signed the split sheet for “Equipo Preferido”, created from Tu Música's electronic-signature account.
  • It maintains that the songs are joint works and that a co-author may grant a non-exclusive license without the others, so there would be no infringement.
  • It maintains that my termination of the contracts, dated August 2, 2026, is not valid because there was no prior notice with a period to cure.
  • It considers the takedown notices I sent to the platforms and to Warner improper.
  • It reserves legal action against me, and stated that it will not respond further outside a formal proceeding.

September 29 and 30, 2026

Tu Música, through its attorney

  • He states that he is not authorized to accept service of the claim on his clients' behalf, and that no documents will be accepted or forwarded.
  • He demands that I stop contacting him and his office.

Where the disagreement lies

  • Whether a split sheet signed among writers authorizes a label to release a recording.
  • Whether the two songs are joint works, or whether my production was a pre-existing work that could not be used without my permission.
  • Whether the royalty statements for the eleven songs under contract were already due.

On the royalty statements, I am not aware, to date, of any reply from Tu Música.

Right of reply
